The Shakedown Archives welcomes inquiries from researchers, readers, fellow Deadheads, families and representatives of subjects we have covered, journalists, and prospective business contacts. The most reliable way to reach the editorial team is by email at inquiries@theshakedownarchives.com.
What to Include
To help us route your message and respond efficiently, please indicate which of the following categories applies:
Corrections. If you believe an article contains a factual error, include the article URL, the specific passage you believe is incorrect, and any source (book citation, archived recording, contemporaneous press, oral history, etc.) you would like us to consider. Our full corrections protocol is on the Editorial Standards page.
Right of reply. If you are an identified subject of an article, or their authorized representative, and would like to submit a written response, identify yourself and the article in your message. We review every right-of-reply submission against the documentary record.
Story tips. If you have documents, recordings, oral history, or a research lead you believe is worth pursuing, describe what you have. We do not publish on the basis of unsourced tips, but a tip that points to verifiable primary sources is valuable. We protect the identity of sources who request anonymity.
Research questions. Reader questions about specific articles, sources, recordings, or coverage are welcome. We try to answer them when time allows; we cannot promise individual replies on every research question.
Press and business inquiries. Press, podcast guest requests, syndication inquiries, licensing questions, and similar should be flagged in the subject line.
Response Time
We aim to acknowledge legitimate correspondence within five business days. Corrections requests and right-of-reply submissions are prioritized. Generic outreach (link-building offers, paid-promotion solicitations, AI-content offers, etc.) is not responded to.
Write directly to inquiries@theshakedownarchives.com. Include the category from the list above in your subject line so we can route quickly.
