Bill Graham

Bill Graham (1931–1991) was the Bay Area concert promoter who made the Grateful Dead possible. Through the Fillmore Auditorium, Fillmore East, and Winterland, Graham booked and promoted thousands of Dead shows over twenty-five years. His relationship with the band was famously combative and famously loyal. Articles cover his role in the Dead’s career, the venues he ran, and the business model he and the band invented together.
